New Faculty and Staff at Southwestern College

New faculty and staff have begun the 2020-21 school year at Southwestern College.  
 
New faculty include:
John Badley, visiting instructor of English.  Badley joins Southwestern from his most recent position as English teacher at Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He holds a master of arts degree in teaching from Loyola University Maryland, a master of divinity degree from Duke University Divinity School, and a bachelor of arts degree in literature and philosophy and religion from Southwestern College.
Deanna Bay, affiliate faculty in psychology.  Bay had been in Syracuse, New York, where she is finishing her Ph.D. in human development and family science from Syracuse University. She holds a certificate in advanced study in global health from Syracuse, a masters of education degree in therapeutic recreation management/child life from Springfield College in Massachusetts, and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and Spanish from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York.
Richard Sharp, affiliate faculty in business.  Sharp joins SC after a 15-year career in IT at a variety of companies including Cargill, Ennovar, and NetApp. He is completing a doctor of business administration degree at Northcentral University in Arizona.  He has a master of business administration degree and a bachelor of science degree in computer programming from Southwestern College. 
Dilini Fonseka, instructor of mathematics and director of the Quantitative Literacy Center. Fonseka just completed her dissertation defense at Texas Tech University. In addition to her Ph.D. in math from Texas Tech, she holds two master of science degrees in math – one from Texas Tech and one from Sam Houston State University.  Her bachelor of arts degree is also in math, from the University of Kelaniya in Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
Jacob Belmore, assistant professor of computer science, and faculty advisor for E-Sports.  Belmore arrives to Southwestern from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, where he was assistant professor and chair of the department of computer science.  He holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science and information technology from Graceland University, and a master of science degree in computer science from the University of Central Missouri.  He is currently completing a doctorate in cyber security at Dakota State University.
