"The Freedom Affair is a 9-piece soul juggernaut from Kansas City, MO Led By Three Powerhouse Vocalists, Paula Saunders, Misha Roberts, And Seyko Groves. Born Out Of A Meeting Between Chris Hazelton And Dave Brick, The Freedom Affair Formed In 2017 With A Vision To Write Original Soul Music Inspired By The Traditions Of The Genre’s Past With A Universal Message Looking Toward The Future.

Basement Jam Sessions Between Brick (Drums), Hazelton (Bass), And Guitarists Cole Bales And Branden Moser Sparked The Groundwork For The Band’s First Couple Tracks. Paula, Misha, And Seyko Soon Joined Fulfilling The Vision Of A Three Female Led Group, Each With The Power To Lead And Each With Unbound Love To Step Back When It’s Time For The Other Shine. Rounding Out The Band’s Sound, Brett Jackson (Saxophone) And Pete Carroll (Trumpet) Bring A Wealth Of Experience, Style, And Ability To An Airtight Horn Section That Can Shift Between Explosiveness And Gentle Harmonies At The Drop Of A Hat.

Bring your own lawn chairs, picnic blankets, food, and drinks (alcohol is allowed, but open containers must stay within the perimeter of the stage). The Winfield Lion's Club and Soroptimists of Winfield will be selling food in the Soroptimist Pavilion just south of the stage.
