Industry and Teaching Experience
Dr. Yazdani took several roles in industry before committing to the prestigious field of teaching. His career started as telecommunication maintenance specialist at Riyadh International airport. Three years later, based on his solid technical background in electronics and telephony he decided to market telecommunication products. For fourteen years he worked with Nortel and Siemens in management positions while stationed at Riyadh and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Upon migrating to United States he briefly ventured with a Cajun restaurant business in Louisiana, providing an opportunity to learn the basics of entrepreneurship. As a member of highly educated family he decided to pursue higher education and upon completing his M.S. he secured a business consultant position with General Electric Information Systems at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As team leader for the entire western region he initiated the largest project in his career, providing a value added enterprise wide solution for Saudi Arabian airline cargo division. He also played a key role in providing country-wide information exchange infrastructure for several companies engaged in executing the largest power generation system project. Dr. Yazdani inclination to be an educationist started when he worked first time in Pakistan, his native country as manager of Information Technology for Lahore University of Management Sciences. His responsibilities included strategic plans for the future expansion of computing facilities, providing leadership for in-house software development, and procurement of computer resources. Dr. Yazdani provided consulting services to industry in the area of computer networking and software development. Based on his intensive industrial background, exposure to several cultures, business and information systems knowledge, and years of teaching experience, Dr. Yazdani aspiration is to create a conducive and valuable learning environment for his students.
