Upon acquiring a B.S. degree from Kansas State University, Dr. Green began her teaching career in Kansas public schools where she was an instructor at the secondary level for five years.  After attaining a M.S. degree from Oklahoma State University, she was employed by the Oklahoma State Department of Education for 12½ years.

During her state level service, Dr. Green was involved in providing regulatory oversight and monitoring program compliance, offering technical assistance to local school districts, developing curricula and conducting workshops at the district and state levels.

While working on her Ph.D. at the University of Kansas, Dr. Green pursued research interests related to teacher attrition and trends in teacher retirement and also contributed to joint research projects which focused on analyzing the five-year teacher education program and assessing the academic labor market for teacher educators.  She has presented results of her research efforts at both K-ATE and ATE conferences at the state and national levels.

Dr. Green is currently in her fourth year of employment as a teacher educator at Southwestern College where she serves as Coordinator of Secondary Education.
