Message from the Head of the Psychology Program

Welcome current students, future students, and alumni! We are well into Fall of 2015. I would like to start by giving a delayed congrats to alumni, Jordan Hill and Kylee Kudera who will be earning their masters degrees this year. I would also like to congratulate Tavinia Tucker, Rachel Wong, Rosana Macias, and Bethany Venn for being excepted into various post-graduate programs this past year. We are very proud of all our graduates those going to graduate school and those working in field. A few new things this year. We have a new visiting professor, Dr. Kari Nilsen. She comes to us from Wichita State and brings a lot of energy to the program. We are continuing to expand our class offerings. This fall we have a positive psychology course that the students are really enjoying. We are bringing in Dr. Tom Kinlen, director of Larned State Mental Hospital in November to be a speaker and hope that the students can tour his mental hospital in the spring. We have one senior working on a senior research project and doing a teaching practicum. We also have 9 juniors and seniors working on group research projects. We hope to take these projects to the Southwestern Psychological Association conference in April 2016. Psychology is also organizing a campus wide Humans vs. Zombies game this October to help the campus bond and have a little fun.  Check our events page for all upcoming events and Go Builders!

My Best,

Dr. Carrie J. Lane
