Daniel Fritzlen (BA, Baker University) is a Professor of Accounting at Southwestern College. He began instructing at SC in Aug. 2019. Courses he teaches include Intermediate Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, and Corporate Finance.

Academic History 

  • Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Baker University, 1977
  • Masters of Science in Accounting, Kansas University, 1978

Highlighted Achievements 

  • Certified Public Accounting designation (1980)
  • 28 years with SBC Communications/AT&T, in which he was involved with Financial Analysis and Budgeting, primarily in Corporate and Operations Finance. He also had brief assignments in Procurement and Sales Operations. 
  • Created and coordinated the Telephone Operations four billion operations budget and planning the integration for two multi-billion dollar mergers.
  • Currently consults with HOLT Caterpillar headquartered in San Antonio Texas on budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic business opportunities.


Fritzlen is The President of Winfield Lion’s club. He has also worked with the Winfield Public Library to raise funds through selling donated books. Fritzlen has also been a member of Toastmaster since 1980.

In his free time, he enjoys playing cards (Hearts & Euchre) and spending time with his wife Karen, their five cats, and their dog. In his free time, he tends to fix up his house and clean up unfinished projects.
