P-12 Learning & Development

Southwestern College is in the process of collecting data about its impact on P-12 learning and development. The SC Education Division will use data collected from the Teacher Strength’s Survey to determine impact on P-12 learning and development. The 2019-2020 school term was the first year for the division to use the Teacher Strength Survey, developed for the purpose of gathering evidence to support CAEP Standard 4 Impact Measures. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the division received very few responses from participating teachers. We will continue to gather survey responses from practicing and licensed 1st and 3rd year teachers who have completed the Southwestern College educator preparation program. The same information is gathered from the novice teacher’s assigned building principal.  Once a preponderance of evidence from the survey is established, along with other measures of evidence, the Teacher Strength Survey data will be used to identify and validate program impact on P-12 learning and development, support program changes, and monitor program improvements.
