SGA Meeting Minutes

For January 10, 2017

 

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order by Vice President Jones at 8:04 PM

 

Invocation: Given by Student Conduct Advisor Jordan.

 

Roll Call:

There were (5) executives present and (5) Senators and (13/18) organizations present.
 

Approval of Minutes:

A motion was made by President Demel to pass the minutes as unread. Motion passed without debate.

        

Open Period/Announcements:

Register for workshop

Talk to Savannah to register
Register your organization by January 16th

Committee meetings

Emily Jones- Curriculum

Different things that are changing in majors. Education is adding a class.
Beyond Google- working out a better way to have a class for incoming freshman.

Kayla Demel- Admissions and retention

Talked about incoming students coming in at semester.
Keeping up the student success center and enrolling for classes

Shayla Jordan- Academic Affairs

Difference between Practicum and Internship
Planning the graduation reception for December graduates

Planning to take the pledge for Random Acts of Kindness.
If you take the pledge you send someone a note- in February

Walk for the college and community April

Gaming Club

Cafeteria for a tournament the 27th of January

On a motion by President Demel to adjourn the meeting at 8:27 PM, the senate voted and the motion passed.
